Band Management Workshops

Workshops for rock bands that want to become more successful.

These workshops are for the members of a single band - a opportunity for your band to spend some time with a band manager planning your future career path.

Get Your Band On offers a service of what we call "career path development" for bands. This is a term used in the music industry and it's about planning, managing and organising a band's future pathway into full-time music.

GYBO offers a unique consultancy service to help unsigned bands form a solid foundation for their work.

Elements covered in the face to face workshops include:

  • Assessing the strengths and weakness of the band
  • Clarifying the band's goals and objectives for the year ahead
  • Working out where the band is positioned in the music market place - both now and in the future
  • Planning the work of the band for the year ahead
  • Aiming at record labels - what to do and what not to do - preparing to get signed. Approaching labels, negotiating record deals.
  • Making money from the band's music - sales and marketing
  • Building up a team of people to support the band
  • Developing a strong fan base - organising fans and supporters and customers who will buy the band's products
  • Organising promotion and publicity

Plus much more.

This looks like a lot - yep it is - and workshops last for 3 hours. The above is a typical list of things that are covered. Each session is planned to meet the individual circumstances of each band. So whilst the above list is typical of the kinds of things that are covered, the content can be tailored to suit a particular band's needs and circumstances.

Can any band join a workshop?

Yes. Workshops are open to any band, not just our rostered bands.

Who should attend?

All the band members plus any key people - like a local manager if you have one or the key person from a Street Team.

Is this a training course?

No. It's for one band at a time and it's a workshop, not a lecture - your band members work with us to make decisions and sort out what they want to achieve. There is an emphasis on practical know-how and working with the band to solve specific problems and answering questions.

Will this sort out our music?

No. This is a management and business organisation process. We are not qualified to give advice on music or musicianship. But, if your band feels a need for such help, we will try to help your band to source qualified and experienced music producers.

Where?

Workshops are held at the Get Your Band On office in Leicester. The office is right next to the train station and has its own car park on site.

When?

Most workshops are held on Saturday afternoons.

Will we have to play?

We have occasionally been able to get the band a gig to play in the evening but this depends on how far ahead you can book.

What does it cost?

We now have a new pricing policy
